John Murray and Jennifer Clark of the firm’s Tampa office obtained a complete defense verdict following a four-day jury trial. The Plaintiffs, an aircraft owner and operator, sued MMH’s FBO client, alleging failure to timely warn of an engine fire occurring in one of the jet’s engines after the aircraft landed, parked, and was chocked at the FBO, awaiting fuel uplift. The Plaintiffs claimed their flight crew could have prevented damage to the engine from an overtemp event had the line service employees taken faster action to notify the crew of the issue with the engine. However, MMH was able to demonstrate to the jury that the line service employees’ actions did not cause the damage to the engine and a faster warning would not have prevented the damage that occurred.
